About the project

Shardz is a Windows desktop customization app built around one idea: your desktop, in glass. Its headline feature is a taskbar player, a slim media player embedded in the Windows taskbar that works with anything reporting to the Windows media controls, from Spotify and YouTube in the browser to Apple Music and VLC, and hides itself when a game or video goes fullscreen. Around it sit more widgets: a Now Playing card with artwork and a draggable progress bar, a customizable clock, hidden edge bars that slide in apps, folders or sites when you push the cursor against a screen edge, and a system monitor for CPU, memory, GPU, VRAM, network, battery and FPS. Every widget is rendered on the GPU so it bends and blurs the wallpaper behind it like real glass. It runs quietly from the system tray, needs no account and keeps all settings on the PC.
